Can’t Decide if Counseling Is Right for You?

If you’re undecided about going to therapy, think about the following:
    • Call Kaiesha for a free 15 minute phone consultation.
    • You don’t have to commit to a minimum number of sessions.
      • Some clients find a just a few solution-focused therapy sessions useful and choose to continue working on their own once they've learned tools and coping / calming techniques to help them move forward.
      • If using Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits through your employer, they will determine how many sessions they believe you need based on your mental health needs at the time of their assessment.
    • It’s normal to have concerns.
      • You may worry about whether therapy can help you.
      • Your therapist will be able to help you explore this anxiety and uncover some of the concerns and fears that underlie it. Maybe you are wondering how therapy works and why it will help when other things you have tried have not. You might also be interested in knowing what kind of experience and training your therapist has in working with people on the kind of issues you are bringing to therapy.
      • Raising these concerns, and any others you may have will afford you the opportunity to learn more about therapy, how it works, and your therapist’s background and approach to the work.
    • Finances are often a problem.
      • Many insurance plans pay for part of the intake evaluation and therapy costs.
      • Contact your employer to see if you are eligible for any free therapy sessions through your EAP benefit.
